Obituaries

GILBERT “ED”  TORREY, age 85 of Main St. in Plymouth, passed away of an apparent heart attack on Jan 16, 2010, at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.

  He was born Dec 7, 1924 in Port Huron Michigan.  He graduated from High School and then served in the US Navy during WWII.

  Ed had been employed at the Kroger Foods Stores in Michigan.

  On June 28, 1974 he married Norma Jean Stanton.  He had been employed as a painter and had managed the Colonial Inn in Plymouth. .

  His love of his Lord lead him to become a pastor.  He served in that capacity for many years.

  His wife preceded him in death Dec 16, 2007.   He had been a member of the Solid Rock Christian Center.  His favorite hobby was making ceramics. 

  Survivors include his granddaughters, Lynese (Jim) Withers of Brandenton FL, and Christy (Brett) Roof of Sterling Heights MI.as well as five loving grandchildren.

  Following cremation a memorial service will be held Wednesday evening, January 20th at  6:00PM at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth. Pastor Ronald Beuthien will officiating.  Inurnment will take place in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM Wednesday until the time of service.
