JEAN R. WIEHR, age 65 of the Town of Greenbush, passed away peacefully Friday morning January 1, 2010, at the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice, following a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born July 24, 1944, in Ocean City New Jersey, a daughter of the late Harold and Rebecca (Law) Gannon. She graduated from Ocean City High School in 1962.
On February 15, 1964 she married Edward Wiehr in Marmora NJ. They lived in Plymouth until 1974 when they moved to the town of Greenbush.
She had been employed at A&P cheese, Bemis Mfg, Van Horn Hyundai, and Clean Power.
Jean was a loving mother and grandmother, loved working in her gardens, feeding and watching the wild birds. Jean was also known for her growing of cactus, collecting native American pottery and making baskets and other crafts.
Survivors include her husband Ed, two sons Darren Wiehr of Glenbeulah, Jason Wiehr of Plymouth and one daughter Leslie Wiehr and her husband Phillip Bullington of Honolulu HI; one grandson Alex Urner; two brothers Harold Gannon and Robert (Anna) Gannon both of Sommers Point NJ.
She was preceded in death by one infant son Dion and her step mother, Velma Gannon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening, Jan 5, 6:30 PM at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. James Hoppert officiating. Cremation will follow.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM Tuesday until the hour of service at 6:30 PM. A memorial fund will be established in Jean’s name for the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice.
